Our Faculty
Miss Allison
Miss Allison has been dancing since the age of 5 years old at Miss Chris. Her training includes Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Lyrical. Miss Allison was a member of our Tap Ensemble and competed for 3 years. She has also completed the 5-year Teaching Training Program at MCSOD and has joined our Teacher-Training Staff. This year she graduated from Rowan University where she received her BA in Elementary Education. She is currently Teaching Pre-K at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. We are pleased to have Miss Allison on Staff and know your children will enjoy classes as much as she enjoys teaching them.
Miss Amber
Amber Dawn Hongsermeier is a dancer, dance educator, and choreographer living in South Jersey. Originally from Grand Island, NE she has lived in Las Vegas, Japan, and New Jersey where she has worked as a model, performance artist, and professional dancer for a variety of dance companies and film projects. In May of 2015, she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she received the Porter Award for excellence in dance artistry and choreography. While at Rutgers she will be teaching undergraduate ballet classes as a teaching assistant for the dance program. She recently graduated from Rutgers University at New Brunswick with her MFA in Fine Arts in Dance. Amber is excited for her fifth year at Miss Chris School of Dance!
Miss Aniyah
Miss Aniyah has been dancing and performing since 8 years old. Her dance genres have included Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, and Hip-Hop. Among her strong suits are Tap and Hip-Hop, in which she has performed on our Competition Team for 5 years. She completed her 5-year Teacher Training Program and now helps with the training of our Student Teachers. Miss Aniyah has been with our Staff for 3 years as our Tap II and Wee Hop Teacher. She is also a member of "L3GACY" Dance!
Miss Kayla
Miss Kayla’s dance journey began in her mother’s dance studio, Miss Chris School of Dance, at the age of 2 where she took classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, and Pointe. She was a member of the studio’s competition team which, at the age of 18, she became the team’s director where she has won numerous high score and specialty awards for her choreography. Her students have also received many scholarships and have gone on to perform on Broadway and dance for Philadelphia Soul Dance Team, Jr. Sixers Dancers as well as the Philadelphia Flyers Ice Girls. Miss Kayla participated in a five year teacher training program and began teaching full time in 2003. Her true passion for dance didn’t erupt until she started going to conventions where she has learned from choreographers such as Brian Friedman, Jamal Sims, Tyce Diorio, Travis Wall, LaurieAnn Gibson, Stacey Tookey, Joe Lanteri, Joey Dowling, Wade Robson and more. Her professional studies include a BA in Hospitality and Tourism Mgmt. Miss Kayla currently lives in Florida where she teaches dance part time and works full time for Disney but always returns to be Miss Chris's Assistant Director of Dance Rehearsal & Recital. She occasionally comes back to NJ to set choreography and teach classes.
Miss Kristine
Miss Kristine has been on staff forever and is now entering her 23rd year of teaching. She is a graduate of Juniata College, where she received her B.A. degree, studied abroad in Mexico, and is currently works for the State of NJ in Human Resources. She completed her Teacher Training with Jay Dash Dance Conventions and Miss Chris School of Dance and earned her Teaching Certificate. She is also part of our Teacher Training Staff for our Student Teachers. Kris teaches our Tap I and Adult Tap classes. She has also taught our Tap Ensemble in the past. You can always count on something surprising and “Fun” in her choreography. We are always excited and honored to welcome her back.
Mr Sam
Mr Sam 'Is In The House" for his 6th year with our Studio and we are always excited to see what's up his sleeve. Sam comes to us with much under his belt. He is a Professional Dancer, Choreographer, Lyricist and songwriter. In addition to owning his own dance company, “L3GACY” Urban Dance Co, he also played Semi Pro basketball. He has performed in NYC, LA and Vegas (Someone should nail that guys sneakers to the floor). He has been teaching our Hip-Hop classes and Company. He is a Jack-of-All-Trades and Master of all. Sam doesn’t command attention, he’s just somehow “Magical”. The students are once again enjoying his classes tremendously.
Miss Olivia
Miss Olivia has been dancing since the age of 3 years old at Miss Chris. Her training includes Ballet, Jazz, Acrobatics, and Lyrical. Miss Olivia was a member of our Jazz Competition team and competed from the ages of 8-16. She has also completed the 5-year Teaching Training Program at MCSOD and has joined our Teacher-Training Staff. In December of 2023 she graduated from University of Delaware where she received her BA in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education. She is currently teaching 1st Grade at Berlin Community School. We are pleased to have Miss Olivia on Staff and know your children will enjoy classes as much as she enjoys teaching them.
